A cozy game about raising magical plants and running a garden shop inside a giant oak tree.
Plants & Paws is a cozy, enchanting game where you nurture magical plants and manage a whimsical garden shop inside a giant oak tree. Built around relaxation and mental well-being, it pairs strange plant behaviours with a customisable home and a pocketful of gentle mini-games.
A bear wanders into a magical forest full of very unusual plants. The road there is not kind to him — but he finds loyal friends along the way. When he reaches a clearing with a huge oak tree standing in the middle of it, he decides to settle inside and open a small shop selling the magical plants whose seeds he gathered on his travels.
What waits for you is a warm, curious world of growing things and caring for them, and of meeting the residents of a mysterious forest. Little by little the business grows, and with it the map: new magical places open up, new rooms get built into the big oak. Misty swamps, ominous caves, a mushroom peninsula, a strange coastline — all this and more lies ahead. And of course, a lavish collection of unusual plants that you, dear player, will grow entirely yourself.
Water, clean, prune, fertilise and treat each plant to keep it alive. Every species has its own behaviour and skills that ripple outward: a plant with vampirism steals water from its neighbours, while bright light is destructive to the tentacle family.
Every plant you grow is catalogued. Collect the rare and the unreasonable, grow enough of a species to decipher the Book's hidden notes, and turn a shelf of pots into a proper library.
Customise the space around you and the bear himself — hats, glasses, overalls, furniture. Build additional rooms into the oak as the business grows, and settle into a look you actually want to spend hours in.
Shop visitors bring requests. Rewards unlock new bear abilities for better trading and easier plant care, invite new vendors into town to stock a better assortment, and open hidden locations on the map.
Prune a plant, glue a broken pot back together, unlock a new music track. Small, tactile diversions that break up the rhythm of growing without ever demanding much of you.
We've spent a long time on the question of how games can help with mental health, and had real success with it on our last project. Here it's the priority: Plants & Paws is built to entertain, but also to relax and take some weight off your day.

We're a small team of two. Making games is a huge part of our lives — it's our passion and our reason to keep going.
We've been developing games for many years. Thousands of players have spent time in worlds we built with love and a lot of stubbornness. Along the way we've worked with a number of publishers, picked up awards, entered competitions, and been featured by companies like Google and Apple. We're proud to be part of the games community.
Plants & Paws is the project where the thing we care about most — games that genuinely help people feel better — sits at the centre rather than the edges.
Write to us and we'll answer — we're two people, so it's always one of us, usually within a day or two. Steam keys are available for press and creators; tell us roughly where the coverage will land and we'll sort it out.
